Welcome to Voluntary Action Melton

Voluntary Action Melton is a registered charity which aims to help voluntary and community groups in Melton Borough. Our office is based in Melton Mowbray.
A Board of Trustees elected by the membership oversees the management of Voluntary Action Melton.
Our services include:
- Support, representation and information for local voluntary and community organisations
- Help for new groups and existing groups to develop their activities and access sources of funding and other relevant information
- Practical help such as equipment loan, secretarial support, meeting place, internet access, desk space
- Recruiting, interviewing, referring volunteers to local voluntary, community, statutory and public sector organisations
- Providing ongoing support and training for volunteers
- Providing training, support and advice on good practice for volunteer involving organisations
- Providing the latest voluntary and community sector news
- Improving channels of communication between voluntary organisations and Statutory Bodies
A number of projects are supported and based at Voluntary Action Melton such as the Carers Development Project, the Care (befriending) Scheme, the Transport Scheme, Melton Borough Pyramid Project, Local Area Agreement Capacity Building project and the Health and Social Care Link Worker.
Voluntary Action Melton also facilitates a forum for all local voluntary and community organisations called Community LinX.

Money available for Climate Change Projects
Are you running a project in your local community to help tackle climate change?
Would you like to set up a climate friendly project in your local community?
ENABLE is looking to work with two community groups in Leicestershire:-
A starter group who is thinking about setting up a climate change project
A mature group- a group who is already running a project
Prize for each group
• £500 start up fund
• Free training and workshops
• Support from ENABLE Project Officers
• Invitations to other climate change training events
• Training for two community climate change champions

Funds and Figures is a 5 year project supported by the Big Lottery, working with small community groups across Harborough and Melton districts of Leicestershire.
