Case Study
James came to Voluntary Action Melton after being referred by his local community mental health worker as he was suffering from severe depression.

In his working life James had most enjoyed work that involved physical activity outside and as he had run a gardening scheme and worked for a garden centre he was keen to get involved with our gardening project.

Within a few weeks James was benefiting from his new interest, making new friends and working as part of a team lifted his self confidence and helped him cope with his depression. He was also giving something back by helping people less fortunate than himself.
